Fall at the Harmon Household

So I created a family blog nearly 3 months ago and now I am finally getting around to updating it again. As usual, life is crazy but I am not sure I would have it any other way. I keep telling myself that in about 12 years it will just be Ron and I, the boys will be off at college and oh how I will miss the craziness and noise! For now, I always feel like I am at the brink of totally losing my mind :)

Jacob has started 1st Grade and, although the year got off to a rocky start, he has settled in quite nicely and is really enjoying school. He also got to follow in his brother's footsteps and join Boy Scouts. Man do I feel sorry for his den leader. My friend(whose son is also in Jacob's den) tease and say "2002" must have been a "bad crop" when it comes to boys. Jacob is also on the "Wipe Outs" soccer team and scored the winning goal a couple weeks back. Boy, was I SO proud!

Caleb is in 2nd Grade and last month was recognized as Student of the Month for his class. The theme for the month was "Hard Work". Again, another "proud moment" for mom. He is returning to Boy Scouts and has made some new friends who joined our den. He also returned to the "Explosions" soccer team. He has improved so much over the past few years and has really developed a love for the game. He has scored quite a few goals although his team isn't usually on the "winning end". His coach says he may not be the fastest kid out there but he is efficient. He knows what to do and gets the job done.

Ron is assisting coaching Jacob's soccer team and is Den Leader for Caleb's Boy Scout den. Between that and work there is hardly time for anything else. It is hard sometimes but I know how proud he is of "his boys" and loves being so involved.

I started a new job doing foreclosure inspections. Obviously, I am quite busy. I am trying to adjust to working so much and still trying to be as involved as much as possible w/the boys. I hate missing out on their activities but I am working on finding that balance.

Ron's dad has been visiting us for the past few days. This is only the second time the boys have seen him and they have been excited to have their grandpa in town. Grandpa has had lunch w/ them at school, played with them on the playground, visited their classrooms, watched their soccer games, went to the ice cream store, and went to Apple Hill. Needless to say, Grandpa is tired! Tomorrow is going to be a "relaxing" day at home and Ron's brother and sister-in-law will be coming over for Sunday dinner.

Well, that's about all for now. Hopefully it won't take me another 3 months to get on here!
